I’m Mark Burke, a BABCP accredited Cognitive Behaviour Therapist, Registered Mental Health Nurse and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing) Therapist with over 20 years experience of providing professional and confidential support for people with a wide range of difficulties.
I specialise in treating anxiety and depression. Many people who suffer from these conditions are unaware that effective treatments exist. The truth is that the majority of people who complete a course of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for anxiety or depression will either make a full recovery or experience a significant improvement in their symptoms.
Living with anxiety or depression can make it much more difficult to cope with normal life events such as stress, difficulties at work, family breakdown and relationship problems so Cognitive Behaviour Therapy can also help with these.
If you’d like to have a look at some of the problems I can help with there is a list on my services page.
As well as working in my own practice I continue to work in the NHS as a Cognitive Behaviour Therapist in an IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Medicine) service. These services are widely acknowledged as world leaders in providing evidence based psychological treatments for people with anxiety and depression.
